Join us on Tuesday, November 3, 4:00 to 5:00 PM ET (1:00 to 2:00 PM PT), to learn how to apply to the 2027 AITC Annual National Research Award Competition!

This webinar covers the first step of the competition: submitting a letter of intent (LOI).

Representing the AITCC Research and Consulting Team, Thomas Gill, MD, and Mary Geda, MSN, RN (Yale University), will give an overview of the AITC Program, key components of the Request for Applications (RFA), the application process, and eligibility criteria.

Leadership from the five AITC sites will present the research priorities for their awards: Duke AITC-AIGE, Johns Hopkins AITC, Stanford University AITC, MassAITC, and APEX-ADRD Collaboratory (UCLA).

  • Duke AITC-AIGE
  • Johns Hopkins AI & Technology Collaboratory for Aging Research
  • Stanford AITC
  • MassAITC
  • UCLA Health

The webinar will close with a Q&A session, and attendees can submit questions in the chat.

The competition funds cutting-edge AI and technology approaches to advance aging and AD/ADRD research. Projects may develop a new AI-enabled tool or technology; adapt, integrate, or strengthen an existing technology for a new aging or AD/ADRD application; or evaluate a technology’s feasibility, usability, effectiveness, safety, or implementation with older adults, caregivers, clinicians, or health systems.

The competition welcomes AI and technology projects across all of NIA’s scientific areas: aging biology, neuroscience, geriatrics and clinical gerontology, and behavioral and social research. Examples include computational biology and multi-omics analysis of aging and AD/ADRD, AI-driven neuroimaging, clinical decision support, sensors and devices for independent living, and tools for caregivers.

Letters of Intent are due Monday, November 16, 2026.

U.S. organizations of all types, including universities, health systems, nonprofits, companies, and government entities, may apply.

All prospective applicants are invited to join!
